Trey Sheain, CFA

Portfolio Manager


Trey Sheain is a Portfolio Manager for Pennington Partners and is based in the Houston office.

Prior to joining Pennington, Trey was co-Head of Public Markets at Alfred I. DuPont Trust – a foundation dedicated to pediatric healthcare with $9 billion in assets. Previously, he was an investment officer at Johns Hopkins University’s endowment where he oversaw an investment portfolio of $7 billion across both public and private markets. Before JHU, Trey was a Senior Investment Analyst at Gallagher Fiduciary Advisors providing investment consulting services to clients totaling $28 billion in AUM.

Trey began his career at T. Rowe Price in the firm’s Financial Institutions Services division after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics. He earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and is a CFA Charterholder, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Charterholder, and holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) certification awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute in conjunction with the Booth School of the University of Chicago.
